It was brought to my attention the other day that someone was taking my Caitlyn photos and posting them on a German anime site as their own.
The photos ended up being taken down and the issue was resolved thanks to people commenting, calling her out and contacting the admins. Whoever used my photos wrote an extremely long blurb about the details of making (my) Caitlyn costume. With all that time and effort they probably could have made something of their own. I hope she starts to make cosplay for herself since it's pretty evident that she likes it a lot. If she takes other people's photos then she misses out on the best part of cosplaying: which is cosplaying. I think wearing the costume and being the character is the most fun I can have when it comes to this hobby.
After all of that I kind of learned to appreciate the cosplays I have a little more so I dug this older photo out of my stash. I used to get antsy about not reaching as many viewers or not getting much likes but over time I realized that it was completely unnecessary and I found more important things to care about. I stopped checking my like counts on my photos and page. It shouldn't be about the likes or views or comments. Do it because you like it, not because other people will. At the end of the day, it's your money, your time, your effort. Make it count.
